SALT DOUGH MAPS!!!
Fourth graders created maps of Maryland using salt dough. They made topography maps that showed the 3 land regions in Maryland (Atlantic Coastal Plain, Piedmont Plateau, and the Appalachian Mountains). Students also showed the location of the Chesapeake Bay, and several cities including; Rockville, Baltimore, Annapolis, and Washington DC. They later painted the maps in art class to show the different land elevations. They did a great job!

Class President!

Students read the story "Class President" by Johanna Hurwitz. The story is about a boy running for class president. After reading the story, students completed a literature packet. They then wrote their own  campaign speech. In their speeches, students explained what they liked about St. Jude School, and what they wanted to improve. Finally, the students created campaign posters to show the rest of the school what made them an ideal candidate for a class representative .
