We made our classroom into a factory!
The fourth graders learned about the Industrial Revolution. We learned about factories using mass production and assembly lines to create products at a faster and cheaper rate. Our classroom became a candy train factory! Each student had one job on the assembly line to; package the train, assemble the train parts, add description cards, label the product, and finally package the train in boxes. It was a "long" day...The students talked about how tired they were after and why factory life was so challenging to the people who had to work like this during the turn of the century. At least we got to go home with a tasty treat!
