Snow Treasure Diorama
Students in fourth grade created diorama's of scenes from the book "Snow Treasure" by Marie McSwigan. This is the story of children in Norway during WWII who are given a difficult mission to hide gold bullion from the Nazi soldiers. They take the gold on sleds to a hiding place in the woods during the winter.
Students had to pick a scene to illustrate with a shoe box and various items from their homes. Students used cotton, small toys, play soldiers, Legos etc.
After they created the scene- they had to write an essay about their diorama.
